Preserving local biodiversity – Pollinator insect hotels

Create a temporary shelter for insects to promote biodiversity in your garden!

During this fabrication workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to construct a ready-to-use insect hotel, designed to accommodate the vital champions of biodiversity. Pollinating insects play a pivotal role in preserving local biodiversity by facilitating the spread of pollen, which in turn leads to the blooming and fruiting of plants. To encourage them to take shelter near your home, we invite you to build a hotel tailored to their needs, providing protection against predators.

In line with the Fab City movement to safeguard biodiversity, this activity is part of a series of workshops led by the team at échofab, Communautique’s Fab Lab, with pollination as the main theme.

An initiative from

échofab, Communautique’s multidisciplinary atelier located in the heart of the District Central, is a digital fabrication laboratory (Fab Lab) that brings together the strengths of several sectors (digital manufacturing, education in scientific and technical skills, sustainable development, business support actors) who articulate together an innovative offer to stimulate the emergence of innovative entrepreneurial projects in green and digital economy.
