Invitation to artisans to an open house at échofab

Communautique and the Conseil des Métiers d’art du Québec invite Québec artisans to an open house at the échofab.

We’re delighted to welcome artisans from Québec to the échofab premises. During this visit, artisans will have the unique opportunity to learn more about the 2D3D – Digital Exploration and Creative Research continuing education program, which enables them to renew their creativity and innovate thanks to the digital possibilities of a Fab Lab. This training program is offered by CMAQ in collaboration with Communautique. There will also be an overview of the Ecoresponsibility in Crafts program and a discussion of the needs of craftspeople.

An initiative from

Communautique

Communautique’s mission is to support citizen participation by promoting information literacy, the appropriation of information and communication technologies and contribution to their development. Communautique has been working for 24 years to democratize access to technology in a perspective of economic, cultural and social development. It is a pioneer in the arrival of Living Labs, which it has greatly contributed to making known, as well as in the advent of Fab Labs in Québec. He opened échofab, the first Fab Lab in Canada, co-founded the Coop Fab Labs Québec and is leading the advent of the Fab City movement in Québec.

Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec (CMAQ)

The mission of the Conseil des métiers d’art du Québec (CMAQ) is to represent, support and develop the field of fine crafts in Québec. A recognized organization under the Act respecting the professional status of artists in the visual arts, crafts and literature and their contracts with presenters (Act S-32.01), the CMAQ brings together and represents professional craftspeople, supports their professional development, and promotes the distribution and marketing of their creations. To do so, it collaborates with the entire craft ecosystem in Québec and Canada.

The CMAQ brings together over 1,000 professional members, selected following a rigorous process designed to ensure that they possess full mastery of the techniques and know-how related to their craft. This evaluation, based on norms and standards established by committees of peers in each profession, also guarantees the public the professional quality of the works and products created. It’s worth noting that 2/3 of our members are local women entrepreneurs.
